
Cabo Caudcedo, Santo Domingo. – Youth Ministry, The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, spanish: Idac, and the Superior Academy of Aeronautical Science, spanish: Asca, formalized an interinstitutional cooperation agreement to facilitate the youth of the country to study a technical career in aeronautical administration.
Pursuant the agreement, the three entities compromise themselves to benefits the young people between the ages of 15 to 35 years to curse the technical studies in the Idac’s Superior Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, that operates in the area of Cabo Caucedo, next to the International Airport Las Americas Jose Francisco Peña Gomez.
The agreement was subscribed by Rafael Félix Garcia, Youth Ministry; Héctor Porcella, Idac’s director; and Clara Fernández, Asca rector, during a ceremony celebrated in the academy premises.
To facilitate the scholarships, signing entities engage themselves to cover the 100 per cent of registration cost, registration and pre-registration, and students’ services, until completing the academic program. The 50 per cent will be covered by the ministry and the other 50 per cent by Idac through Asca.
Ministry Rafael Félix Garcia explained that the initiative that is part of the scholarship plan sponsored by the institution as part of the program “Youth Educational Support” aiming to impact in a short term to 2 thousands young peoples from different country provinces in a situation of economic and social vulnerability, through a quality education that allow them to make their dreams a reality of a worthy profession.
After the signature, ASCAs rector anticipated the institutional commitment to offer a preferential treatment regarding the use of its spaces and premises to the programmed activities by mutual agreement with the Youth Ministry.
Porcella highlights the boom in civil aviation
IDACs interim general director stated in The frame of the ceremony that civil aviation of the Dominican Republic it’s in an extraordinary boom moment thanks to the effective outlined strategy by president Luis Abinader and Tourism Ministry David Collado making possible that the country achieves to become in the world’s number one in industry recovery.
He pointed that with the experimented growing that has experimented the air traffic in the last two years the aeronautical sector demands more and more specialized technical and staff to be integrated in the industry.
He explained that the Aeronautical Science Academy accredited Icao, as a Regional Excellency Center in Aeronautical Instruction, has all the Idac support to elevate the quality of its academy program to respond to the needs of human resources that poses this dynamic sector of the national economy.
