USA Air Force highlight Dominican Republic leadership in civil aviation in the region

Bogotá, Colombia. Captain Steve Dickson director of the Federal Administration of Aviation of the United States, (Faa), highlighted the leadership of the Dominican Republic in civil aviation affairs in the region.

Hector Porcella,general subdirector of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac),representing general director, Román E. Caamaño,met with captain Dickson, during the participation of both of them in the forum of airlines leaders of Latinoamerican and the Caribbean Airlines Association (Alta).

The main goal of the meeting with the bearer of the american aeronautical authority was to strengthen ties of mutual cooperation and exchange impressions about the operational safety and at the same time, to discuss the updating of an agreement memorandum susbcribed between Faa and Idac , explained the dominican officer.

Porcella thanked the invitation and expressed satisfaction for the recognition granted by the Faa, manifesting that “inside Idac we do have the engagement to work toguether in common interest for the benefit of the development of the civil aviation in the region and in the operational safety of civil aviation in the Dominican Republic”.

Both officials agreed to coordinate a visit to Faa installations in Washington to exchange experiences jointly with Idacs technical team, toguether with a counterpart of technicians of the american aeronautical institution.

The forum was attended by regional and global civil aviation authorities and as a special guest Colombian president , Iván Duque Márquez.
