
Santo Domingo. The general director, Idac, of the Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, Idac, Héctor Porcella, welcomed the initiative of the Central American Parliament, Parlacen, to propose an open skies agreement to its member countries, and he hopes that the Civil Aviation Board will evaluate it in a future session.
Porcella made the statement after receiving in his office a commission from Parlacen made up of deputies Gilberto Manuel Succari, from Panama; Manuel Ventura Ureña and Rossy Solis, from the Dominican Republic; and Eva Nicol Monte Bac, from Guatemala, president of the entity’s Tourism Commission.
He promised to meet with the president of the Junta de Aviación Civil, Jac, Dr. José Marte Piantini and with other members of the organization in order to refine criteria regarding the Parlacen proposal, in light of the already well-known strategy drawn up by President Luis Abinader to strengthen the air connectivity with Latin America and the rest of the world.
The initiative for an open skies agreement is being also evaluated and sponsored by legislative authorities of the Parlacen member countries, as per explained during the meeting by Eva Nicol Monte Bac, president of the Tourism Commission.
