
Conclave held in the country sponsored by Icao and Singapur authorities to evaluates strengthening strategies of operational safety and practices and recommended rules accomplishing by rector organism of international civil aviation.
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.– Interim general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation Idac, Héctor Porcella, thanked to International Civil Aviation Organization, Icao, to choose the country as the venue in the “Program to General Directors of Civil Aviation about Resilience in Aviation”, which valued as a recognition to efforts president Luis Abinader government has done to supports the recovery and growing of that strategic sector of national economy.
Porcella made the statement when participating in the opening day of the meeting headed by the general secretary of Icao, Juan Carlos Salazar, with the presence of Melvin Cintrón, director of north region, Centro America and the Caribbean; and general directors, ambassadors and delegates of civil aviation of 25 countries of Las Americas, like so Singapur civil aviation authorities, State city that is sponsoring too the activity.
Besides the “Program to General Directors of Civil Aviation about Aviation Resilience”,the conclave will include the Workshop about the Compliance of recommended practices and rules of Icao, Sarps, and a work session about the preparations of the next general assembly and technical cooperations activities of the specialized organism of the United Nation, explained Porcella.
IDAC’s officer offered the welcome to international representatives in behalf of president Abinader, tourism minister, David Collado and all the authorities of the dominican aeronautical sector.
Porcella pointed that the success the Dominican Republic it has had in tourism recupering, has a lot to see with the jointly effort sponsored from tourism cabinet, created by president Abinader, and the head managers of all civil aviation institution in the country.
He claimed that the Dominican Republic no only has it been the number one country in tourism recovering, as the World Tourism Organization (OMT) recognized; but one of the first country in the world too exceed the stats of air traffic before the pandemia of Covid-19.
“The selection of the country as a meeting venue of civil aviation of Las Américas, by Icao, and Singapur authorities, its a distinction that we appreciated aiming to reciprocate not only with the traditional hospitality of the dominican people, but the commitment too to keep to continue being an example in operational safety and strengthening our human capital and our technological capacities to contribute to the full achievement of our strategical’s generals objectives of our parent organization”.
The institutional conclave agenda headed by ICAO OACI includes, among other, the following topics, “A more resilient aviation sector and ready to the future”, “Program of aviation answers before Covid-19”, “Meassures and challenge in operational safety”and “Safety return in operations”.
Besides, the general director of civil aviation and internationals organizations representatives will be debating too about “Operational Safety-thinking ahead, for a future response ”, “Emerging sustainability issues-”, “Key lessons”, y “Compliance management with Sarps of Icao”, among other.
Porcella was confident in which the conclave will represent an important step to the growing ahead of civil aviation in the region and strengthen the reputation of the dominican aeronautical system as an example of resilience and sustainable development model in Latin America .
