
SeouL, Korea. – The (i) general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), Héctor Porcella, met with senior executives of Korea Airports Corporation, who presented the progress of the development project of the Pedernales International Airport.
Porcella was impressed by the importance that the renowned Korean public company has assigned to the Pedernales tourism project after the signing last May of a preliminary agreement with the Dominican Government through the Minister of the Presidency Joel Santos and the general director of Public-Private Partnerships, Sigmund Freund.
He said that the executives of Korea Airports Corporation, headed by its president HyeongJung Yoon, projected during the presentation the design of a world-class modern work that will be a reference in the Caribbean and Latin America.
“During the meeting with the executives of this important Korean state company we received details about what they intend to develop in Pedernales, according to the parameters already established with the authorities of the Dominican Republic,” he explained.
Porcella, who also took a guided tour of the main facilities of the corporation and received explanations about the various state-of-the-art projects in the field of civil aviation and urban mobility, was invited to visit the headquarters of Korea Airports Corporation after through its intermediary the Dominican Republic agreed to host the next edition of the Global Implementation Support Symposium of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
