The general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation Idac, Héctor Porcella, congratulated the airline Sky High Dominicana for extending its operations to five new destinations in the United States, Venezuela and the Caribbean, which, besides favoring tourism and commercial exchange, will also benefit Dominicans who resides in the connected areas.
He considered that the new connections of Sky High from the airports of Santo Domingo, Santiago and Punta Cana with the cities of Miami, Providence, Valencia, St. Croix and Saint Thomas, represent a sample of the sustained growth that has been registering the commercial aviation of the country with the support of President Luis Abinader.
During his participation in the launch ceremony of the new flight operations, Porcella highlighted the remarkable interest shown by the Dominican registration airline in the rigorous compliance with aeronautical regulations and operational safety standards required by IDAC, in accordance with the standards of the Icao and the Faa of the United States.
During the presentation, the commercial director of the airline, Cesarina Beauchamp, reaffirmed the commitment to connect the Dominican Republic with North, South and the rest of the Caribbean, showing her gratitude for the efficient collaboration of the country’s aeronautical authorities and President Luis Abinader himself, who has demonstrated his firm will to support the development of civil aviation. main logistics platform of the national tourism industry.
Regarding the new expansion, she explained that new routes will connect Santiago de los Caballeros with Miami with direct flights three times a week, Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays, and from Providence, Rhode Island, it will fly on Thursdays and Sundays, which means that with these routes they will link the northern part of the country, thus promoting air connection and economic and tourist development in the region.
From Punta Cana International Airport there will be three flights a week to Miami International Airport: Monday, Thursday and Sunday.
Additionally, the airline has included its portfolio of routes with weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays to Valencia, Venezuela, an industrial and commercial area of great importance and with potential for tourism, and they have also incorporated St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, where another connection with neighboring St. Thomas was already operating.
