Santo Domingo. The general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, Héctor Porcella, met with senior executives of Jetblue to evaluate various measures to improve service on the numerous routes that the airline operates between cities in the United States and the Dominican Republic.
Porcella defined as productive the meeting with Jetblue executives led by director of operations Warren Christie, with whom he discussed issues of interest to Dominican users residing in the country and abroad, which should translate into benefits for customers and strengthening of tourist and commercial exchange between the two countries.
The Idac director highlighted that JetBlue is the main United States air operator in the Dominican Republic, and indicated that the two entities agreed to work together to raise service standards and overcome factors that in the past have generated complaints and claims from Dominican passengers.
“We made JetBlue executives understand the importance of our market as the main tourist destination in the Caribbean, so that the necessary measures were taken to improve customer service, committing ourselves to working with them to continue strengthening air connectivity between our countries,” Porcella said after the meeting.
He stated that the Dominican Republic has the challenge of ensuring the highest levels of quality in the aeronautical industry, since it is the fundamental platform to guarantee the sustainability of tourism development, the main support of the national economy and a key ally of other important productive sectors.
