
The event brought together some 25 private companies and public institutions linked to the Dominican aeronautical system that offered jobs to the new applicants
Punta Caucedo. – More than a thousand young people from various parts of the national geography went on Friday 6 to the facilities of the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, Asca, in the vicinity of the Norge Botello Aeronautical Complex, of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, to the Third Job Fair of the Aeronautical Sector.
For the third consecutive year, the Asca serves as a bridge to hundreds of people, especially young people who wish to enter the labor field and who have chosen the aeronautical sector as the point of reference for a better life, given the economic benefits and growth as professionals, which are perceived in an area as dynamic as this one.

Both the deputy director of Idac and director of Sustainable Development, Miguel Mejía, who represented the general director, Igor Rodríguez Durán, and the director of Asca, Clara Fernández, showed their satisfaction with the resounding success of this third call and the response of the hundreds of young people who gathered at the aforementioned fair.
“This event, more than a job opportunity, is a meeting point for young talent, with the aeronautical industry, a key sector for the economic and social development of our country, which is constantly growing,” said Mejía.

While the director of the Asca, indicated that since the initiative to promote the Job Fair emerged, expectations have been exceeded every year, in addition, satisfaction grows, confirming that more than 80 percent of the applicants achieve a place in the different companies that host the call for the event.
“It should be noted, with sufficient pride, that a high percentage of the young people who attend the fair and who get jobs, are graduates of our Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, Asca.
During the fair, three talks called “Asca Talks” were held, with the titles “How to be the candidate that companies want to hire”, by Maribel López Llano, Director of Management and Human Resources of IDAC; Creating a culture of labor inclusion”, by Rafael Tejada, facilitator of the National Council on Disability and finally “Aviation: the vocation that made me have a purpose”, given by Alvin Monegro, Operational Safety Manager of the Punta Cana International Airport.
The records managed by Asca, the promoter of the fair, which is also supported by IDAC, in the 2022 version, 243 applicants achieved jobs, while, in 2023, 273 were chosen, for a total of 519 new collaborators to the offering companies.
Among the companies linked to the aeronautical sector that participated in the Third Job Fair are, in addition to Idac and Asca, Aviam, Arajet, Tripulantes Vip, Before Boarding, Sky High, Adca, Iasca, Enalas, ATS, Grupo PuntaCana, Cesac, IGM Catering, Sky Caterers, Talleres Aeronáuticos del Caribe, AFP Reservas, Departamento Aeroportuario, Sipen, Red Air, Servair, Pilarte Cargo, DR From The Sky and EPS.
The Aeronautical Sector Job Fair was held within the framework of the celebration of the Dominican Aviation Week 2024, which from Monday, December 02, to Friday, December 06, included training activities, special recognitions to employees, a floral offering at the Altar of the Homeland and a Thanksgiving Mass.
In addition, it is part of the commemoration of World Civil Aviation Day, instituted by the United Nations in 1996, which is celebrated every December 7 to highlight the importance of this means of transport and promote policies and strategies that contribute to promoting its sustainable development for the benefit of all humanity.
The event was headed, in addition to Mejía and Fernández, by Maribel López, director of Human Resources and Human Management; Yildis Almonte, director of Planning and Development; Juana Iris Rodríguez, Director of Transparency and Citizen Attention and Yeymi Portes Perdomo, Legal Director.
In addition, representatives of the aeronautical sector, special guests and, of course, those interested in the job offers of the fair participated.
