
Madrid, Spain.- The Minister of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, David Collado, kicked off the official activities within the framework of Fitur 2024 with the presentation of his customary Road Show to more than 300 tour operators and travel agencies in Europe, where he highlighted the strategy of that ministry to catapult the market of the old continent.
At an event held at the famous Las Ventas bullring in Madrid, Collado explained how the country achieved the goal of reaching more than 10 million visitors in 2023 and the advantages and benefits that the Dominican Republic has as a leading destination in the Caribbean for visitors.
This presentation is part of the effort made by the public and private sectors to ensure that more Spanish and European tourists continue to prefer the Dominican Republic as their favorite long-haul destination.
During the meeting, Minister Collado showed the beauties of the different destinations in the Dominican Republic and highlighted the excellent conditions of the Caribbean country for investment.
He said that this year’s great challenge is to exceed 3% of Spanish tourists who visited the Dominican Republic in 2023.

The Dominican Republic received 10,306,517 visitors by air and sea last year, which marked a milestone in the history of tourism.
“Your presence here is the best evidence that together we will guarantee to remain the favorite long-distance destination of Europeans,” Collado told the tour operators and travel agents who participated in the Road Show.
Also said he had a meeting with the presence of 300 travel agents and tour operators on the eve of the official start of Fitur.
