Punta Caucedo, Santo Domingo province. The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation Idac, and the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences Asca, have just held the second Job Fair and Open House, with the participation of educational institutions and 22 entities of the sector.
The activity took place at the Asca facilities, during the commemoration of civil aviation week and had more than one hundred jobs available. Applications will be evaluated by participating companies, including airports, airlines, financial entities and service providers.
By participating in the opening of the event, the general director of Idac, Héctor Porcella, stated that the Jobs Fair and the Open House are a reflection of the notable growth registered by the Dominican aeronautical industry under the incentives and support that president Luis Abinader has offered to tourism and civil aviation.
He explained that the new Dominican-registered airlines, together with the international operators that have established themselves in the country in the last three years, have generated a significant induced demand for technicians, support staff and service employees, who in many cases need the adequate level of specialized training.

Regarding the training, the director of Asca, Clara Fernández, also spoke highlighting the importance of the “Open House” or opening of the academy facilities to present to interested young people all the opportunities offered by the Idac study center to study a degree in aeronautical administration or other specialized areas.
Among the companies offering jobs, scholarships or educational services, she cited Arajet, Grupo Punta Cana, Pilarte Cargo, Sky High, Aviam, Iasca, Banco de Reservas, VIP Crew Members, Academia Superior de Ciencias Aeronáuticas Asca, Aerodom, Talleres Aeronáuticos del Caribe, CTC Logistics, Fundapec, Airport Department, ATS Air Port Teams Solution, Enalas, Dominican Association of Air Traffic Controllers and Idac itself.
Also participating were academies, colleges and specialized educational centers such as the National School of Airline Agents, American Dominican School, Perpetual Socorro School of the Dominican Air Force, Jiménez de los Santos Educational Center, Christian Baptist School, Children International, José Joaquín Pérez Night Lyceum , Maranatha Studies Center and San Miguel School.
The first jobs fair and open house took place last year in the same place with the presence of more than 20 companies or institutions in the sector and hundreds of young people interested in entering the world of civil aviation.
