In the  Icao 41st  general assembly, DR aligns itself  with CO2 reduction in civil aviation 
Representatives  of   56  Icao  members countries  engaged with CO2 emissions controls in civil aviation. In the first row, Héctor Porcella, interim IDACs general director. 

Montreal, Canadá. – The interim general  director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation Idac, Héctor Porcella, reaffirmed the country commitment  with emissions reduction of carbon or  CO2 in aeronautical activity. 

Porcella, who is part of the dominican delegation  presents in the  41st  general assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Icao, reunited in Montreal, Canada, ratified  the   firm will of the Dominican State to advance  in the adoption and application of publics politicy to the development of civil aviation  does not present  a negative impact in the environment.                     

He made the statement after participating in a  prior assembly summoned by the International setting  for climate setting of aviation ,where 56 countries participate initially committed by the control of CO2  footprint. 

The  41st  Icao assembly,to develop from  september 27 to  october 7 ,will address an agenda essentially focused  in tryng to reduce emissions and recovering commercial aviation after pandemia effects of   Covid-19. 

Porcella remembered that last month of august in Punta Cana tourist community took place a very important meeting headed by the general secretary of Icao, Juan Carlos Salazar, where more than  60 representatives of international aeronautical sector,among generals directors of civil aviation of more than  25 countries, ambassadors accredited and delegates of specialized institutions of  North, Center, South america and the caribbean, as a result of a proper iniciatives of Icao and the Civil Aviation Authorities of   Singapur. 

He said that the Dominican Republic was selected as the seat in recognition  to the outstanding that has had the country, under the leadership of president Luis Abinader, in tourist  recovering and international air traffic. 

He explained that the agenda developed in that meeting allowed to define importants affinity points  in  greats sectors issue, including the position  to advance in a common strategy to reduce the carbon footprint in civil aviation. 

The Icao assembly, an specialized organism  of the United Nations, it celebrates each three years  and in the 2022 editions joint to  2 thousands  500 delegates of  193  members countries. 

The dominican delegations is integrated besides  Idac’s director, by the president  of Civil Aviation Joint, José Marte Piantini; Airport Department director, Víctor Pichardo; the Dominican Republic Ambassador to  ICAO, Julio Peña; the private sector  representative to  Civil Aviation Joint, Antonio Yapor; and technicians related with agenda assembly topics.
