Igor Rodríguez Durán highlights the Arajet base installation in Punta Cana as a step forward

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. – The general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation; Idac, Igor Rodríguez Durán, described as a key step to strengthen the air connectivity of the Dominican Republic with Latin America and the rest of the world, the inauguration of the new Arajet hub, at the Punta Cana International Airport.

Rodriguez said that the airline’s operational base will open new opportunities for international travelers and contribute to the economic development of the region.

In his inaugural speech, the official highlighted the efforts made by Arajet executives to make the opening of this hub possible, an effort that involved the other institutions involved in the Dominican aeronautical system, as a way to support the growth of our companies.

“I wish the best for Arajet with this new destination and I assure you that you have the support of the Dominican government and Idac, to guarantee operational safety,” he said.

He also thanked the PuntaCana Group, in the person of Frank Rainieri, for the willingness shown to continue developing civil aviation in the country and especially in the tourist area of the East, with the purpose of taking Dominican aeronautics to the next level together.

The airline’s Ceo, Víctor Pacheco, revealed that they are currently operating with 10 aircraft and that the airline reached an important milestone by exceeding one million passengers so far this year.

“Our goal is to continue growing, with a projection of operating between 13 and 15 aircraft by 2025, with which we expect to mobilize around 1.5 million passengers per year,” Pacheco said.

The founder of Arajet also highlighted the importance of working together with international airlines and the PuntaCana Group, to create interline agreements and consolidate that air terminal as a “multi-destination”.
