Santo Domingo.- Igor Rodríguez, appointed general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, met with senior civil aviation executives within the framework of the First Meeting of National Authorities of Civil Aviation of the Greater Caribbean and representatives of airlines, recently held in the city of Santo Domingo.
The meeting sponsored by the outgoing director general of Idac and next president of the Civil Aviation Board, Jac, Héctor Porcella, allowed Rodríguez exchanged his first impressions with the secretary of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission, Clac, Jaime Binder; and with the deputy regional director of the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Icao, for North America, Central America and the Caribbean, Julio Cesar Siu Sem.
Rodríguez, who will assume the direction of Idac as of August 16, valued the opportunity to maintain initial contact with two regional authorities who have closely followed the evolution and growth of civil aviation in the Dominican Republic.
He thanked the gesture of Porcella was pleased to facilitate his exchange with Binder and Siu Sem and expressed his interest in continuing the fruitful international relations developed by Idac, the Civil Aviation Board and other institutions in the sector.
Porcella, who acted as moderator and speaker during the meeting, of authorities and representatives of airlines of the Greater Caribbean, expressed his willingness to work together with Igor Rodríguez to continue strengthening the strong ties of the Dominican Republic with Icao, Clac and other important international civil aviation organizations.
