
Dozens of public and private entities and hundreds of volunteers participate in a day of cleaning the coast in Bergantin Beach, where state of the art studio film is projected
Puerto Plata.- The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac) intends to extend its environmental program –focused in reducing the carbon footprint in the aeronautical activity- to promote a substainable ecosystem promotion and to preserve the natural resources of the country tourist communities.
Idac´s interim general director, Héctor Porcella, made the statement when congratulated the staff of that unit in Puerto Plata dependency and to the delegation of central office from Santo Domingo that participated in a day of coast cleaning performanced sunday the first of october in Bergantín Beach , in the municipality of Montellano.
Porcella, who is part of the dominican delegation presents in the 41st general assembly of International Civil Aviation Organization (Icao, Oaci) that is taking place Montreal, Canada, conveyed a special message to recognized the voluntary action of the Puerto Plata staff, with the support of its coordinator, Saúl Rodríguez and the Idac´s Public Servants Association.
The developed activity held on the occasion of World Day of Cleaning Coasts, was summoned by the Environment Ministry and it was coordinated by Juana Rodríguez, Norcentral11 regional director of the Overcome program and coordinator of Green Ring;by Julio Rodríguez,in charge of Environment Education Department of Santiago; and Saúl Vásquez, Idac´s coordinator in Puerto Plata.
He also congratulated to the several institutions and authorities participants or sponsoring the day, among them the Environment Ministry, the Overcome program, the hotel company Hodelpa; Women ministry; Education Ministry; Youth Ministry; Customs General Direction; Cora- Plata, Local direction of Aerodom; Adompretur Sosua and municipals authorities of Montellano, Sosua and Puerto Plata.

By congratulating the work carried out by hundreds of volunteers in Bergantín Beach, Porcella considered himself that this gesture must be encouraged and accompanied by all the authorities and companies that have a direct relationship with our ecosystem. “That is why, Idac´s management has the firm will to spand its management program in environment management and substainable development to raise the of the contribution to this noble purpose”.
He underlined that Idac´s fundamental commitment, ratified through Icao agreements, with the ministry of Environment, with Energy National Commission; with the Centroamerica Corporation of Navigation Services (Cocesna), and with the others institutions of the aeronautical sector.

Idac´s Director of Communication and Public Relations, Luis José Chávez, who represented Porcella, in the cleaning day, said that besides to remove a considerable amount of solid garbage, authorities and volunteers move forward in an agreement with Vendor Association of Bergantín Beach for its members become integral activist, and vigilantes of the respect to environment normatives that should rule in that area to ensure its cleaning and preservation.
