
Santo Domingo.The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac) recommended to the population in general and to the owners of the so called RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft or Drones) make a responasable use of these devices during the Holy Week hollidays ,in order to avoid operations that may result dangerous to people,properties or aircrafts.
Through its address of Flight Rules and persuant a graphic hanged material in its web page: www.idac.gob.do and in http://aip.idac.gob.do/Datos/2ENR/enr_5-1.pdf, Idac recommends to be responsable of each fly by taking the neccessary time to understand the rules that legally acepted in the very moment they obtained operation license of these devices.
Besides, it requested in the same publication that distance must be kept due that its illegal to fly a dron above a congested area of people, it means, that never it must pilot one of these devices less than 50 meters of peoples, building or vehicles.
Other suggestions made by the institution is that users must keep their drones in sight at all time and operate it under 400 feet high.
A very important fact of these recommendations, is that drones never must be fly through forbidden areas,restricted or airports making it very clear that the “breach it will generate drastic sanctions”.
Drones must have insurances policies,third party liability coverage , in accordance with the Dominican Aeronautic Regulation (Rad 107.69) and, finally, to consider the privacy rights, it means, that images obtained throrough drones operations must not be used it inappropiately due that they are considered violation of laws.
