Idac reaffirm commitment to  sustancially reduce carbon footprints in aeronutical activity

Montreal, Canadá.  The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, reaffirmed the commitment to accomplish the action plan  of  carbon emission reduction in aeronautical activity in the country in compliance with the recommedation  of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Oaci, during the specialized conference that brings together all the principals authorities of the sector in Montreal city. 

The Idac interim general director Héctor Porcella stated in the conclave called by  Oaci that the Dominican Republic had defined the firm will to foment  the commercial and civil aviation in a sustainable way, persuant the application of operations,technologies and fuel with the less possible  negative impact in the environment. 

In the high level meeting,in which  had met the principals international  authorities of aviation sector, Porcella emphasized that  the country engagement is to strengthen  actions to mitigate and adapt to the adverse effects derived  of climate change,as a part of a strategy that involves  the principals States authorities,headed by president Luis Abinader. 

The dominican delegation  present in the high factibility level conference of a long term  ambitious goal  to reduce the  CO2 emissions of the international civil aviation is headed by Idac’s  interim general director and integrated by the Sustained Development Director , Miguel Mejía and  Ambassador in  Oaci Carlos Peña. 

The meeting is preceded by 2022 Oaci balance , celebrated on july  18  2022 to allow the interchange with the delegates of the recent relevant information, includes in the latest innovations  in technology,operation and fuel. 

Agenda includes recent  information interchange about the work carried out by the organization during the years 2020 y 2021,with the participation of the members States authorities, industry leaders, investigators an innovators that had discused ambitious plans, solutions and politics to reduce the emissions of carbon in  the international aviation  includes meassures in technologies matters,operations and fuel,thus as well as the latest scientific  and importance development  to international aviation information. 

As part of the coordination in the position of the latin American States, The latin American commission  of civil aviation  had performed  several consulting meetings . During this thursday session july  19 the heads of delegations made their statements. 

During its institutional participation, The Dominican Republic recognized that the achievement of the great goal in CO2 emissions reducction of international aviation,demands the commitment and the active cooperation by States side and aviation industries. 

Porcella enhanced  that Idac launched oficially  july its Action Plan  of Carbon Monoxide of emission reducction C02 (Pare-CO2) in compliance to capacities creation project of a collaboration  program sponsor  by   Oaci and European Union. 

He held that the Idac´s main commitment and the dominican aeronautical sector it is to consolidate the country position  as regional referent in operational  safety matters and environmental protection.
