
United States. The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, projected the Dominican Republic in the most important air festival in the United States, as the next great destination of international private aviation in Latin America.
The Idac delegation at the EAA AirVenture Fair held from July 24 to 31 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, highlighted during its participation in the event, that the Congress of the Dominican Republic has just approved the new law of Promotion and Competitiveness of Civil Aviation, in order to attract new national and foreign investments in that segment of the economy.
They also highlighted the new protocol that will govern the operation of domestic flights approved by decree by President Luis Abinader to facilitate the operation of domestic flights, as part of a strategy to turn the Dominican Republic into the main power of aviation tourism in the Caribbean.
The new regulations create the conditions for the country to compete advantageously for the aviation tourism market, which moves between 45,000 and 50,000 aircraft throughout the Caribbean, explained Michael Rodríguez, assistant and representative of the general director of IDAC, Héctor Porcella, in what is considered the greatest “Fly Adventure” of general aviation in the United States.
During a meeting with pilots interested in the main tourist destination in the Caribbean, Rodriguez explained that, the main objective of the Dominican Republic through the protocol of internal flights is to attract thousands of pilots annually from different parts of the world, especially from the United States and Canada.
The Idac delegation at the Eaa AirVenture fair is also made up of Paula Valverde, Yira Yanguela and Raúl Pérez.
