Miami, Florida.- The interim general director of Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, Idac, Héctor Porcella ratified the institution’s commitment to the objectives of the State Operational Safety Program, Pegso, sponsored by the government of President Luis Abinader to strengthen the aeronautical development.
Porcella made the statement after participating in the fifty-eighth meeting of the Regional Aviation Safety Team Pan America, Pa-Rast/58, of the Regional Aviation Safety Group – Pan America, Rasg-pa held from 7 to 9 on February in Miami Florida.
Also as part of the Idac. delegation were Gender Damián Castro, Director of Operational Safety Surveillance; Aida Lidia Del Rosario, in charge of the Operational Safety Guarantee Division; and Alicia Ventura, Head of the Operational Safety State Assurance Division.
The general director and the technicians attended the working sessions on issues related to high-risk categories, such as runway incursions and excursions and loss of control in flight, among other eventualities.
Pa-Rast is a regional group that works to identify operational safety´s opportunities or any other safety issue that is important for the States/Region Nacc Sam.
Porcella recalled that the State Operational Safety Program, Pegso, is a management system to raise the range of compliance with such process in all State´s areas, an objective which has the support of President Abinader and other government institutions, including other entities that are part of civil aviation.
