Juncalito, Santiago- The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, led a significant reforestation event last Saturday in the municipal district of Juncalito, which belongs to the municipality of Jánico, in Santiago de los Caballeros.
The activity was carried out as part of the institution’s strong commitment to environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable actions that benefit present and future generations.
During the day, one thousand white cedar plants were planted, a forest species valued for its contribution to biodiversity and the ecological balance of the mountainous areas of the country.

This action was made possible thanks to the active participation of dozens of collaborators from the Idac, who traveled from different parts of the country to join in a collective effort for the recovery of green areas.
In addition to the institution’s staff, representatives from the Ministry of Environment joined this event, as well as the mayor and deputy mayor of Juncalito, who supported the importance of initiatives like this with their presence and backing. A group of boy scouts also participated in the event, enthusiastically assisting in the planting work, demonstrating the value of teamwork and environmental education in youth.
It is worth highlighting that the event was led by the Communications Director of IDAC, Claudio Martínez Turbí, on behalf of the General Director of Idac, Igor Rodríguez Durán.

Martínez Turbí emphasized that these types of events not only reflect the institutional commitment to the environment but also Idac’s interest in promoting a culture of responsibility and action in the face of climate change.
The event was deemed a resounding success by participants, both for the number of trees planted and for the integration of different sectors of society.

With these types of initiatives, Idac reaffirms its vision of being an entity that not only ensures the safety and development of the aviation sector but also takes an active role in protecting the natural environment and building a greener and more sustainable country.
