Santo Domingo. The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation Idac, launched its new Letter of Commitment, which aims to strengthen the institution’s commitment to transparency, adherence to ethical conduct and continuous effort to improve the services to citizens.
When signing the document sponsored by the Ministry of Public Administration Map, as part of the government’s strategy to strengthen transparency and raise services´ quality in State agencies, the director general Héctor Porcella said that Idac assumes the Letter of Commitment as a cardinal guide of its management.
The document specifies the deadlines for delivery of information and services requested by users, provides guidance on how to channel complaints and suggestions through various interaction channels and establishes the guidelines to follow if for any reason a customer receives a product or service outside the committed period.
Porcella valued the joint effort made by the Planning and Development Directorate, the Transparency and Access to Information Directorate, the Ethics and Government Integrity Commission and the Regulatory Compliance and Anti-Bribery Officer, to turn the proposal into a commitment of the entire institution.
The director of Planning and Development of Idac, Sarah Estévez, explained that the Commitment Letter´s purpose is to optimize the management of that entity through updated information for its users and related, and the permanent willingness to provide each interested party with a helpful, respectful and efficient treatment.
She said that the document responds to the strategy of the Ministry of Public Administration to improve the quality of services provided to citizens, to ensure transparency in management and strengthen society’s confidence in the State, as President Luis Abinader has consistently preached and practiced in his exercise and as he has been promoting the Directorate of Ethics and Government Integrity Digei, headed by Dr. Milagros Ortiz Bosch.
