
Joaquín Balaguer International Airport. Giving compliance to the terms of mutual cooperation agreement signed between Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation Idac, and the Dominican Republic Army (ERD), two instructors from the Coordination of the division of Search and Rescue of Air Nsvigation Direction of IDAC teach the subject Aeronautical Search and Rescue Sar to the new members of Humanitarian Rescue Unit, HRU, of the armed institution, from this air terminal.
This trainning are promoted regularly by Idac in order to maintain and strengthen operational skill levels of any organism of first answer to the National Emergency System, pointed Air Navigation Director, Claudia Roa, who was representing Román E. Caamaño,general director of the regulatory body of civil aviation in the Dominican Republic.
“With this trainning it is put into practice part of the Pelican Sar Plan propitiated by the Defense Ministry Mide, and Idac and the Emergency Operation Center Idac-Mide-Coe, about Aeronautical Operation of Search and Rescue Inside Our Fly Information Region, FIR, that at the same time contemplate an aeromedical evacuation exercise”, added Roa.
The instructor from the division of coordination of Search and Rescue of Air Navigation Direction of IDAC performed the exercise of Humanitarian Unit and Rescue of Air Cavalry of the Dominican Republic Army, placed in the cited airport.
Trainning includes “in cold” practices, of boarding and safety meassures with helicopter crew. Six touch and takes off had being planned in search work and jointly work of crew and the Search and Rescue unit.
