
Punta Caucedo.- The general director interim of the Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, Idac, Héctor Porcella, valued the willingness of the airport sector to work along with the authorities in a common strategy to assume the challenge posed by the dynamic improvement of the country´s air operations.

Porcella reiterated that the Dominican Republic continues leading the growth process of aeronautical activities in Latin America, and congratulated the initiative of the main airport operators to work jointly to assume the tasks posed in the short and medium term.
Porcella made such statement during his participation in the conference coordinated by the Academia Superior de Ciencias Aeronáuticas, Asca, regarding “Airport strategies in face of the increase of air operations°, for evaluating and sharing the initiatives adopted by airport managers.
The event included presentations by Mónika Infante, executive director and Ceo of Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (AERODOM); Giovanni Rainieri, director of Airside Operations of Corporación Aeroportuaria del Este, international airport of Punta Cana, and Luis Díaz Monción, Operation manager of the Cibao international airport.
Asca´s director, Clara Fernández, appreciated the local airport´s operators willingness to socialize their initiatives and proposals in order to improve, along with the civil aviation authorities, the strategies that have allowed the country´s efficient respond to challenges posed by the remarkable increase of the aeronautical and air traffic increase.
She recalled that the ASCA, besides having educational platforms for training management personnel in air traffic, has also a broad training portfolio focused on various areas of aeronautical specialization, including airport management. .
The event, broadcasted live and virtually through the Idac Tv portal and YouTube channel, included the participation, besides the above mentioned, of Idac´s area directors and coordinators, airport operators and cargo, training centers, civil aviation authorities and the aviation community in general.
Also present at the event were: the General Director of Migration, Venancio Alcántara; the director of Specialized Airport Security Corps, Cesac, Brigade General Floreal T. Suárez Martínez; the deputy director of the Airport Department, Luis Cabrera; the director of economic affairs of the Foreign Ministry, Manuel Ramón Grullón; the director of Immigration Control, Yudelka García; and the operational deputy director of the General Directorate of Customs, Ángel Encarnación, among other guests.
