Santo Domingo.– The general director interim of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Héctor Porcella, greeted the 30 anniversary of the national airline Air Century and the opening of its direct new flies toward Barranquilla and Cartagena, in Colombia; and Kingston, in Jamaica.
Porcella affirmed that the consistency of Air Century and its decision to expand its regular services is a sample of the great moment that is living our commercial dominican aviation, reflected too in the remarkable flow of new investment and projects registered during the actual administration of president Luis Abinader.
“Actually exist at least 12 airlines in different phase of certification and some of them are operating already under the protocol authorized by the IDACs Dominican Aeronautic Rules and some other competitive organism ”, explained the officer during his participation in the conmemorative act of Air Century three decades.
The activity, was headed by the founder and Ceo of the airline , Omar Chahin Lama, it counted with the presence of the Country vicepresident , Raquel Peña, and with an important representation of authorities and with dominican aeronautical sector businessmen. During the act , it was announced the starting of flies to Barranquilla and Cartagena, in Colombia, from august the four of 2022.
When pronouncing the central words of the act, Chahín Lama announced that the straight services to Barranquilla, Cartagena and Kingston, jointly to seven more destination that it will be incorporated soon to routes net of Air Century, conffirm the engagement of the airline with the country promotion as a destination and with the strenthening of the connectivity to the country with the region.
“It makes me to feel proud, that in this trajectory of 30 years our enterprises had managed to prove , not only in plans,but in facts , its capacity to materialyzed as much projects had determined,endorsed by national and foreign accreditations , such as those granted by the aeronautical and transport authorities of the United Stated ,Mexico,European Union the Caribbean Island among others, having achieved to concrete both on demand and on a regular basis successful operation , that , thanks to the certified aforementioned, we can replied to all scaled to any destination around the world” expressed Omar Chahin.
