The general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, Héctor Porcella highlighted that the celebration in the country of the Global Implementation Symposium of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Icao, marks a before and after in the aeronautical sector of the Dominican Republic , especially for its impact on civil aviation and on the Dominican Republic brand as the main tourist destination in the Caribbean.

Porcella, who made the statement before the main, Icao, authorities headed by its president Salvatore Sciacchitano and its general secretary Juan Carlos Salazar. while delivering the closing speech of the most important ICAO international event that was attended by more than 900 delegates from all over the world, affirmed that “we are left with a rich wealth of experiences, contributions and lessons learned, which will undoubtedly contribute to consolidating the progress of recent years and continue to be a reference in the entire region.”

After pointing out that the meeting exceeded the expectations created when a year ago the Dominican Republic assumed the headquarters of the Symposium, to become the first country on the American Continent to do so. Porcella thanked the Icao authorities for the vote of confidence and especially President Luis Abinader for endorsing the candidacy of the Dominican Republic in the last edition in South Korea.

He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister of Tourism David Collado, to the institutions of the Dominican aeronautical sector and to the private sector allies for their unconditional support for the 2024 edition of the Global Symposium, and congratulated the aeronautical authorities of the United Arab Emirates for their election to become the headquarters of the 2025 edition of the important international civil aviation event.
