
Santo Domingo.- The interim general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac), Héctor Porcella, disposed the formal delivery to custody of three abandoned aircrafts in Las Americas International Airport José Francisco Peña Gómez, to the general administrator of National Assets, Rafael Burgos Gómez, for sale in public Aution, according with the laws that regulate that procedure.
Porcella explained that the transfer to the National Assets direction it occurs after the expiration of the term granted by Idac last september so the aircrafts owners could proceed to retire them in a not longer term of 30 days.
The three aircrafts ,that correspond to big models of Boing company and Mcdonell Douglas brands, remained for more of 180 days in the airport premises without performing any operation, for which it was arranged to cancel the correspondent registration, such as it disposed by articles 100 and 101 of law number 491 of Civil Aviation.
According to the law, unclaimed aircrafts that remain abandoned in an airport terminal, will become dominican State property and will be sold in public aution through the National Assets direction.
Burgos Gómez declared that National Assets direction will proceed to convene the interinstitutional comission responsable of the aution to announce the date and conditions that will governs the aircrafts sales.
He explained that due to the equipments values involved in the dominican State aution could obtain important benefits.
In the delivery ceremony of the three aircrafts custody,also participated the Idacs legal director, Bernarda Franco, who remembered that in the month of july of 2021, Idacs also delivered to National Assets 16 abandoned aircrafts in several internationals airports in the country that were offered in public aution.
