Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, and the Ministry of Women, Mmujer, reached strategic agreements aimed at strengthening so-called gender equality.
During a meeting with Rosa Matos, in charge of Gender Mainstreaming, Isabel María Frías and Bismar Almonte, representatives of Mmujer; Yildis Almonte, the Planning Director of Idac; and José Raúl Vargas, in charge of the Gender Equality Division of Idac.
During the meeting, the Planning Director of Idac, Yildis Almonte, handed over the Institutional Strategic Plan of IDAC to Rosa Matos, a gesture that symbolizes the aeronautical institution’s openness to integrating a gender perspective in its planning and areas of action.
In the meeting, both institutions outlined an ambitious agenda that includes awareness-raising activities, academic training, a high-level meeting between their top authorities, the signing of a cooperation agreement, the creation of Idac’s Gender Committee, the design of a joint roadmap, and new initiatives to promote aeronautical careers with a gender approach, thus consolidating a strategic alliance that goes beyond commitments and projects a far-reaching institutional change.
At the close of the meeting, José Raúl Vargas thanked, on behalf of Idac, the participation of the Ministry of Women, highlighting that this joint agenda marks a turning point in the way gender equality is integrated into the aeronautical sector and national public management.
Through this alliance, the Ministry of Women and Idac reaffirm that gender equality is more than a commitment: it is a strategy for institutional and social transformation, which strengthens democracy and opens new development opportunities for all citizens.Photo
