Santo Domingo.- El Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, Idac, in coordination with its Public Servants Association and volunteers from various public and prívate entities, will develop on March 25 an intensive cleaning work in coast areas of the national territory.
The so called “Una Playa por la Patria” is also sponsored by several public institutions, airlines, enviromental groups, town hall employees and volunteers from the Public Servants and Aeronautical Sectors associations, and will take place simultaneously in 17 beach areas located at the Gran Santo Domingo the North, South and East regions, with the participation of about 1,500 volunteers..
The (i) general director of the Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil, Héctor Porcella, informed that such activity will coincide with the 17 anniversary of the creation of Idac and is included in the social responsibility program developed by the present Idac´s authorities.
“With this great national day to clean up the coasts, which also involves several companies in the country’s aeronautical sector, we want. not only contribute to the preservation of natural resources, but also to create awareness about the responsibility that all Dominicans have in the defense and care of our environmental heritage”, Porcella pointed out.
The cleaning works will take place in Boca Chica La Caleta; San Pedro de Macorís Juan Dolio y Guayacanes; Playa Caleta La Romana; Uvero Alto, Punta Cana; La Garita y Los Cacaos de Samaná; Playa Managua de Sánchez, El Malecón de Puerto Plata, La Boca de Cabarete; Playa San Rafael, Guarocuya y La Casita de Barahona; y Najayo, Los Gringos y la Playita de Nigua, in San Cristóbal.
The president of Idac´s Public Servants Association, Antonio Beato, informed that in such clean up operation will take part many IDAC´s volunteers from the head office in Santo Domingo and the Aeronautical Complex of Punta Caucedo, as well as employees at all airports and offices in the national territory.
Others participating institutions
In the cleaning work day will also participate volunteers from several ministries, including Administrative of the Presidency, Tourism, Environment, from the Consejo Nacional para el Cambio Climático, Procompetencia, Fundación Grupo Punta Cana, Senators offices of San Cristóbal and Barahona, Defensa Civil, governorates of Higüey, Puerto Plata, Barahona, Air Force of the Dominican Republic and the Academia Superior de Ciencias Aeronáuticas, Asca-Idac.
Will participate, as well, The Fundación Vida Azul and public employees´ associations of the Biblioteca Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and the Departamento Aeroportuario, besides Supérate, Hodelpa hotels, Politécnico de Barahona, Fundación CB y Najayo Arriba School, several groups from the National Police, the firemen and from Red Air, Helidosa, Air Century, Sky High and Arajet.
