Idac and National Council for the Climate Change reafirm guidelines to mitigate CO2 emissions

Idac’s Sustainable Development director Miguel A. Mejía and the executive vicepresident of the National Council for the Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism , Max Puig, together executives of both institutions.

Santo Domingo. The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation(Idac), through the direction of sustainable development  and the National Council  for the Climate Change and the  Clean Development Mechanism get together go analyze ,develop and promote programs to mitigation  of carbon dioxide  (CO2) coming from aviation. 

During the meeting, balance was passed to the conclusions of Parted Conference (Cop26) in its twenty sixth edition celebrated in  Glasgow, United Kingdom and possibles collaboration  strategies will be analyzed and environmental  steps to measure its impact in the aeronautical sector .   

Among the topics addressed is the carbon market program for the aviation sector Corsia, presentation of the biofuel feasibility study for aviation and the guidelines for the sector. 

In the talks participated Miguel A. Mejía and Judit de León, director and manager in charge  of Idac Sustainable development, respectively; Max Puig, executive vicepresident of  the Council and  Alan Ramírez,  technical director.  

The governing body of civil aviation and the National Council fo the Climate Change and the Clean Development Mechanism got great concern in articulate activities aiming to strengthening of national capacities that permit to stablish the adecuate synergy applicable for the mitigation  and adaptation to the climate change.  

 IDAC published  the IV edition of the action plan  to reduce the CO2 coming from international civil aviation ,which reaffirm its commitment, to mantain mitigation programs and to protect the environment.
