Idac and Municipal Board agree to accompany presidential initiative to improve the community of La Caleta

Santo Dominigo. – The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, and the La Caleta Municipal District Board agreed to add efforts to the initiative of President Luis Abinader to improve the quality of life and the urban environment of the community near the Las Américas international airport doctor José Francisco Peña Gómez.

Héctor Porcella and Máximo Soriano, general director of the Idac and director of the Municipal District of La Caleta, respectively, committed to working together with other public entities, including the ministries of Tourism, Public Works and Housing, to improve some basic services and renovate the inhabited areas of that demarcation.

“Our institutions are going to join a plan already launched by President Abinader, the Minister of Tourism David Collado and the Minister of Public Works Deligne Ascensión, which will contribute to changing the lives of the people and the depressing visual image that the communities perceive. people who arrive in the country through this important airport terminal,” explained Porcella, highlighting that Idac’s participation is part of its social responsibility program, aimed at promoting actions that positively impact the communities surrounding the airports, in this case of the Americas..

After signing the institutional collaboration agreement, Soriano thanked Idac for the small works that it had already been carrying out in La Caleta and the willingness to participate together with other State entities in a project of social interest that could become a reference for other areas of the country.

Formalizing the agreement

He said that President Abinader had informed him of his interest in intervening in La Caleta, which has more than 80 thousand inhabitants, for which he had arranged to rehabilitate and reconstruct its streets and order the construction of 500 new homes, and that such contributions would be The rescue projects of the Archaeological Museum and the La Caleta Underwater Park are added, led by the Ministry of Tourism, with an investment of 400 million pesos.

Present at the signing ceremony were, along with the general director of Idac, Sarah Estévez, director of Planning and Development, the legal director Bernarda Franco, the director of Communication and Public Relations, Luis José Chávez and the person in charge of Interinstitutional Relations, Jasmin Fabré.

The mayor of La Caleta was accompanied by the legal director Andrés Bueno, the administrative director Carlos Reyes, the Works supervisor Miguel Franco and the councilor Leandro Polanco.
