SANTO DOMINGO.The airfare reduction the inclusion of a not charge first suitcase, and the elimination of payment of tourist card to dominicans that enter the country, were among the central topics treated in a meeting between the interim general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac and high executives of american airline JetBlue.
Héctor Porcella, Idacs interin general director, offered details of his meeting in the institution central office, with president and operation director , Johanna Geraghty, who was accompanied of Michael Quiello, Staff manager ; Adam Schless,aircrafts Acts director and Alexis Morel, Regional Manager to Latin American Airports.
Idac’s director by his side,was accompanied by Antonio Yapor, Oaci’s alternate ambassador and member of Civil Aviation Joint , who exposed the organization position during the consultation.
Porcella explained that one of the analyzed topics in the meeting try to establish a fixed fee,in behalf of dominican diaspora that not exceed the 500 dolars, tax included .
Idac’s representant and the dominican Joint diaspora of Civil Aviation they also proposed that in case of dominican residents in USA been exonerated of the first suitcase payment,just as the creoles have been claiming that travel through JetBlue, pointed Porcella.
We also propose two reasonables proposal to be consider by JetBlue as president in turn of Iata (International Asociation of Air Transport, the first one would implicate to modified its informatic system to eliminate the payment for dominican of the tourist card in tickets booth and the second one, to eliminate the antigen tests to travellers entering the United States from Dominican Republic ”, pointed Porcella.
He Manifested that the points submitted by Idac and Jac found receptivity and good disposition among the high executives of the american airline, promising to analyze each one of the points and to respond in a reazonable time.
Porcella revealed that the delegation of Jet Blue was meeting previously with president Luis Abinader,who manifested to the airline executives his interest to procure solutions to the dominican community abroad, due that for a long time they cryout for better and favorables conditions to mantain the regular and permanent contact with the country.
Jetblue president and executives present in the Dominican Republic, were accompanied by Luis Pellerano and Urania Paulino legal advisors.
