Idac and International Airports Council of Canada sign accreditation agreement for Training Partner in the DR

Punta Cana.- The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, and the Airports Council International Aci, Airports Council International of Canada, signed a Training Partner Accreditation agreement, through which the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, Asca, will teach courses under the standards and requirements established by the foreign institution.

Punta Cana.- The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, and the Airports Council International Aci, Airports Council International of Canada, signed a Training Partner Accreditation agreement, through which the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, Asca, will teach courses under the standards and requirements established by the foreign institution.

The agreement contemplates that once Idac becomes accredited as a Training Partner under the Ica Global Training program, the former will undergo an evaluation of the training facilities to be carried out by the foreign organization and undertakes to allow access to its training facilities and to provide the reasonable assistance that is necessary so that the technicians sent can carry out said Training Partner Accreditation evaluation.

The Aci promotes professional excellence in airport management and operations through prior evaluations, and will determine if Idac’s Asca facilities meet the requirements, and once this process is completed, the accreditation certificate will be issued that will make it an Aci Training Partner.

Meanwhile, the Aci will have the right to inspect the training facilities of the Host Organization from time to time during the training partner’s accreditation period, in order to verify compliance with the agreement, and the Idac undertakes to cover the costs. reasonable grounds for that inspection.

Furthermore, the Aci will assign suitable, qualified and competent instructors to deliver the courses and issue a certificate of completion to each participant who has successfully completed the courses, and the Idac must ensure that its training facilities comply at all times with the guidelines of the Aci, as well as submitting, at least three weeks before the start date of each course, the list of participants who have registered, including their contact information.

Other commitments of the Idac to the Aci are to organize visits to the airport for Aci instructors and course participants, when required by the training, to guarantee that the Courses Approved by Aci comply at all times with the Accreditation Guidelines, among others.

The signing ceremony of the Training Partner Accreditation agreement was led by the general directors of the Idac and the Aci, Héctor Porcella and Luis Felipe de Oliveira, respectively, accompanied by Clara Fernández, director of the Asca; Bernarda Franco, Legal Director, Idac; Gender Castro, DVSO director; Mónika Infante, General Director of Aerodom; Jasmin Fabré, in charge of Interinstitutional Relations at Idac; Issa Castro, director Training Programs, Aci Training Programs, and Gurjit Gill – Director, Ampap.

This agreement took place during the celebration of the Third World Implementation Support Symposium of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Giss, in Punta Cana, with the participation of representatives from 193 member countries of the specialized agency of the United Nations.
