
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, and the Dominican Port Authority, Apordom, formalized an agreement to improve the safety conditions in port and airports around the country through the enablement of new infrastructure services and the application of a training program about aeronautical and maritime.
The agreement subscribed between the Idac’s interim general director, Héctor Porcella; Apordom director, Jean Luis Rodríguez, also provides the adoption of a joint strategy to work in search and rescue areas of accident aircrafts and people rescue and affected properties in the nominated region of flies information (Fir for its english acronym), as well as in the protection of the marine environment.
It is established that the two public entities will develop technical -operational in aeronautical and maritime aspects; interchanging information linked to registered and statistical of the two areas.
Specifically they agreed to interchange the necessaries information to update the technical data to airports aerodromes, port facilities, and air and maritime clubs, to secure the safety and increase the quality services to users.
After the agreement signature, Porcella remembered that the article 67 to law 491-06 of Civil Aviation creates, the Idacs Coordinator Center for Search and Saving, organism under general director responsibility, to whom legislation grants faculties “to activate the established organism of Search and Saving, Sar, to rescue and receive assistance and collaboration of State organism and neighbour countries ”.
The director Pointed that this is a transcendental agreement for both institution, by the interaction and interchange of mutual information to be employed in search and saving protocols, aiming to make agile and efficient the rescues, to country benefits.
While Jean Luis Rodríguez declared the agreement it correspond itself with the mission of the Dominican Port Authority to boost the development of that commercial area and the country economy, fomenting the private investment and to coordinate with the several interinstitutional actors to improve the ports operations safety and increase the services qualities.
He also highlighted that through the agreement a dumbbell is created between both institutions, that will allow to provide a better efficient service to the air activity as in the maritime ambit in the country.
In the agreement signature participated by Idacs side, besides the interim general director, the legal director Bernarda Franco; Flight Rules director, Pedro Alberto Piña; Air Navigation director, Claudia Roa; Public Relation and Communications director , Luis José Chávez; The interinstitutional Relation Department in charge, Jasmín Fabré; and the Search and Saving coordinator, Ramón Antonio Pirón Bautista.
