
Montecristi. The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac) is part of those institutions linked to the aeronautical sector that have to do with presidential protocol to the relaunch of private aircraft tourism , announced recently by the president Luis Abinader in the National Palace, in the tourism cabinet meeting headed by David Collado,ministry of tourism , whose efforts beging to bear fruits upon the arrival of a nine light planes Fly-In and a helicopter to the domestic airport Osvaldo Virgil of this city ,from the United States .
Governor Nelcy Cruz received ,along to a representative group of national aeronautical sector, the first plane from St. Augustine, Florida, which arrived to this air terminal as a part of the tourist activity that will extend for 4 days and will include a visit fly to Constanza.
Cruz expressed herself that this Fly-In is sort of government input of president Abinader to the economic development to the province. “It is a privilege for us to be part of this important event. Montecristi is an aeronautical route ,since over its sky cross over annually about 20 thousands aircrafts, so we reiterate our total thanks and full collaboration to this iniciative”.

The Executive Power represent in this province showed herself hopeful that Montecristi may turn in a near future, in a distribution center of fuel to the civil commercial aviation,for its possition and privilege space, besides that can contributes to this tourism, the diversity of its historical and cultural richesness, not to mention its special gastronomy.
The aircrafts group participating in the activity headed by Jim Parker,private aviation tourism promoter in the Caribbean , travelled around 600 milles from Florida, being received in Montecristi by their local authorities and members of the Development commision and the touristical cluster of this city.
The new protocol, approved last thursday by president Abinader, establishes the guidelines to the Dominican Republic relaunch the tourist promotion of non commercial private aviation unifying around 14 States institution ,conquering that market of more than 20 thousands private airplanes travelling to the Caribbean each year.
The iniciative was headed by the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac),the Airport Department (Da), The Civil Aviation Joint (Jac), the Hotel and Restaurants Association (Asonahores), the Specialized Body in Airport Security of the Civil Aviation (Cesac), the Dominican Air Force, the Dominican Customs ,Immigration Services , and airport officers.

IDACs Air Comptrollers, sent them from Santo Domingo addressed the planes landing in the runaway of 4,000 feet , recently paved by the ministry of Public Works and Communication in coordination with the Airport Deparment .
The airplanes entered the country by International Airport of Gregorio Luperon in Puerto Plata and they will be leaving in april 14 of the current month by the montecristi Airport.
