
Pedernales.’The interim general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), Héctor Porcella, affirmed that the new route of Air Century connecting Pedernales with Santo Domingo, is an important step to speed up the touristical development of SW region.
Porcella made the statement when participating in the launching act of Air Century domestic flies from La Isabela International Airport, to aerodrome of Cabo Rojo, in Pedernales province.
Porcella was present jointly the executive director of the General Direction of National Alliances Public and Privates (DGAPP), Sigmund Freund; president of Civil Aviation Joint (JAC), José Marte Piantini; Airport Department Director, Víctor Pichardo and the administrative director of Air Century, Carlos Jiménez.
IDACs Director valued positively the commercial alliance between Air Century and REP-AIR company to iniciate the route after being awarded under a bidding process performed under a Trust mandate Pro-Pedernales.
Air Century service will start on november the first with two flies weekly monday and friday,at a cost of US$50.00 for a single ride with an estimate of 35 minutes. Freud, director of the Public and Private Alliance, explained that the domestic flies to Cabo Rojo will incentivate the internal tourism and it will attract investment to this new destiny that it is getting ready so dominicans and foreigner may enjoy the beauties and goodness with which God endowed this lands of humbles peoples loaded with dreams and wishes to be part of its growing and development.
In the launching act of the new air route were also present the Customs Ceneral director, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón; the General Commander in Chief of the Dominican Republic Air Force, Mayor General Carlos Febrillet; and CESAC director, Colonel pilot Floreal Suarez; in representing Pedernales were Altagracia Brea governor, and the deputy by the province, Edirda D´Oleo.
