
Santo domingo. Employees of the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (Asca) celebrated the “Month of the Homeland” with a cultural activity that included a historical review of the founding of the Republic and a display of music and dance associated with the Dominican carnival.
When introducing the program of the day, the director of Asca, Clara Fernández, highlighted the significance of the celebration in honor of the founding fathers of the Homeland: “It was thanks to the tireless efforts of Juan Pablo Duarte, Ramón Matías Mella and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, that we could achieved the proclamation of the Dominican Republic and the separation of Haiti on February 27, 1844, a commemoration that coincides with the carnival festivities,” said Fernández.

During the event, an emotional video was shown, which highlighted the values inherent to the historical feat, starring the members of La Trinitaria secret society.
Young people from La Caleta sector participated together with Asca employees and students in a presentation of carnival music dances in memory of the patriotic deed.
The festive gathering not only served to celebrate our historical roots, but also to strengthen the sense of identity and national pride among those present.
