Santo Domingo Dominican Republic. - The general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Héctor Porcella, valued as a collective achievement the recognition granted to the institution for the progress made by the country in civil aviation and operational safety.
The decorations were delivered to several civil and military personalities in compliance with Decree 31-24 of President Luis Abinader, during a solemn ceremony headed by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa and the general director of the specialized Airport Security Corps of Civil Aviation, Cesac, pilot brigadier general Floreal Suárez Martínez.

Along with the head of the Idac, also received the “Medal of Merit for Civil Aviation Safety, blue and green badge” in its first category: Vice Admiral Agustín Morillo Rodríguez, ARD, Commander General of the Dominican Republic Navy,; Major General Celín Rubio Terrero, ERD, general director of the Social Security Institute of the Armed Forces; (ISSFFAA); Major General Jimmy Arias Grullón, ERD, general director of the Presidential Security Corps; Major Andy Reyes Ramírez, Fard; as well as businessman Frank Rainieri and Mr. Nasim (Tony) Yapor Alba, active member of the Civil Aviation Board.
Díaz Morfa highlighted Porcella´s contributions has made as general director of Idac, through initiatives to promote the growth of air traffic as support for the tourism industry and the strengthening of operational safety in accordance with international civil aviation standards.
At the time of receiving the decoration, Porcella thanked the Minister of Defense for the gesture and expressed his commitment to continue the effort to replicate in his area of responsibility the example of work and dedication that President Luis Abinader has put into practice every day during his tenure. .
“It is an honor as a citizen, as a public servant and as a Dominican, to receive this decoration from the hands of Minister Díaz Morfa, not only for the extraordinary distinction it confers on me, but also for coming from an authority that from the beginning of its administration has placed all their efforts to firmly fulfill the sacred duty of defending the homeland, national sovereignty and unrestricted respect for the Constitution of the Republic”. Porcella said.
During his speech at the event, Brigadier General Piloto Suárez Martínez, director of Cesac, said that the distinctions constituted “recognition of the exceptional services provided by exemplary soldiers and civilians.”
