
Executive committee of Asonahores visit Idac´s aeronautical complex in Punta Caucedo
Santo Domingo.- Representatives of the national executive committee of Asociación de Hoteles y Turismo de la República Dominicana (sic) Asonahores headed by its president David Llibre paid a visit to the aeronautical complex of the Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil,Idac, in Punta Caucedo.
The visitors toured the areas of the complex where operate air navigation, operational security and air traffic control, being informed about the various operations that are executed 24 hours a day to guarantee the security of the air traffic in the country.
The general director interim of Idac, Héctor Porcella, who headed the guided visit, highlighted the strong links between tourism and civil aviation in the Dominican Republic, and affirmed that, as an island territory, both sectors must act as one body to fulfill their mission.
Porcella said that civil Aviation has been a key factor in the impressive recovery of the Dominican tourism after the stoppage provoked by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Llibre was very impressed by the modern facilities and tecnological services operated by Idac in order to guarantee the increase of air traffic that has made possible the sustained tourist Development of the country.
The representation of Asonahores was also integrated by the executive vicepresident Andrés Marranzini, the past president Luis Emilio Rodríguez Amiama, the directors Ramón Roselló, Omar Cepeda, Raúl López and Mónica Infante, and the executive Sandra Piña.
Porcella was accompanied by the director of Flight Standards, Pedro Alberto Piña; the director of Operational Security Surveillance, Gender Castro; the air traffic manager Eduardo Tejada; the director of the Academia Superior de Ciencias Aeronáuticas, Clara Fernandez; and the director of Communication and Public Relations of Idac, Luis José Chávez.
