Héctor Porcella highlights historical  récords in tourist arrival by airway in august 2022 
President Luis Abinader expresses his satisfaction to the internal general director Héctor Porcella, for the achievements of the sector.

Santo Domingo.- The interim general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, IDAC, Héctor Porcella, highlighted the historical  records  registrated in august 2022 in tourist arrival by airway, in commercial flies quantity, in aircrafts ocupation level, in contribution to the treasury and projected reserves number for the next end of the year. 

When pondering the historical number in tourist arrival in the eight month of the year, release by president Luis Abinader and minister  David Collado, Porcella stated that such results are the direct consecuences of the right outlined strategy by the current government when created the tourism cabinet with the participation of all  publics and private actors involved in the hospitality industry . 

And he assured that those remarkables results in civil aviation matter have  been  driven by the spirit of unity and commitment   assumed by the institutions of the dominican aeronautical sector, from technician to executives, till employee and even the most humble workers.In that sense,expressed his congratulations to Idac’s staff, to the Civil Aviation Joint, to Airport Department and to Specialized Body of Civil Aviation Safety, Cesac. 

“Ministry Collado is right when he ensures that in tourism matter the Dominican Republic  is in its best moment , when reaching the figures of the  621 thousand 953 arrivals, surpassing in more than 124 thousand  2019 visitors”, expressed Porcella after the presentation of the tourist data corresponding to the last month of august. 

Collado, who was assisted by the technical team of Tourism Ministry,explained that the airways tourist arrival in august set a a record since that exceed years 2018, when arrived 537 thous. 576 and 2019 when visiting 497 thous. 390 travellers.  

When speccifically refers to the perfomance of aeronautical sector, Porcella pointed that numbers of civil aviation  country  correspond plainly with the plan laid out by the tourism cabinet to support the program in recovering of the industry. 

The data shown during the presentation reveal that in august historical figures were recorded in tourist arrival by air, in commercial  flies quantity,in aircraft occupation level, incomes in  tourist card  and exit taxes and in the number of reserves projected to the next end of year.

Presidente Abinader  highlight feat of the dominican tourism 

When participating in the presentation of tourism data to august,  president Luis Abinader  said that tourism grows in the country to a superior rhythm than the rest of the world, “what strengthens us as leaders placing us in a future and hopeful stage ”.  

He stated  that the commitment and ambition  of this government  is to keep growing, making the Dominican Republic bigger and a leader in tourism.  

“Today we can highlight  that  august was the best month of the historical series in our country,breaking a record that we are surpassing monthly “, expressed the Head of State.  

The Ruler  precised that even we been in an adverse context,we have known how to shine in the touristical sector. 

“Tourism means employ, business oportunities to bigger  small and medium enterprises,besides the transformation,renovation  of urbans areas,the conservation and promotion of our natural and cultural patrimony of our country “, pointed the Ruler.  

To the Ruler judgement ,the achievement assets in the sector do not respond to inertia or chances,but to the result  of government coordination  in a tight collaboration  existing  with  other agents  “with local government,a very highly competitive and dynamic sector, and in a laboral service sector which quality  and warmth  are recognized worldwide”.
