
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute,The superior Academy of Aeronautical Science, (Idac-Asca) and the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña (Unphu), signed an agreement of inter institutional cooperation.
With this agreement Idac–Asca and the Unphu reaffirm they engagement to develop an academic agenda in behalf of the national aeronautics linked to the academic universe as well as the development of the research and studies in the aviation world.
In addition, they compromise themselves to join forces for the development of research projects that got to do with the purpose to make contributions that help in the competitiveness,innovation and efficiency in the matters of interest of the national aeronautical sector.
The agreement was signed in the university rectory,by the hand of mister Román E. Caamaño, Idac general director ;mrs Clara Fernández, Asca director and architect Miguel Fiallo Calderón,Unphu rector.
“The purpose that today is summon us it is not less important: The formalization of an agreement through which National university Pedro Henríquez Ureña (Unphu), Idac and its Academy of Aeronautical Science (Asca) compromise themselves to join effort of academy links to develop research projects in civil aviation matters that has as a final purpose to raise the competitive,innovation and efficiency and as a constituency way , the general promotion of the process that strengthen the national aeronautical sector ”, expressed mr Caamaño.
In that very order, rector Fiallo said: “This is a very important agreement , because we are preparing academically the staff that will be working in the aeronautical area and the commercial aviation in the country, a very sensible area for the integral development of the nation. Actually the Air and Space coordinating office of the Unphu-Idac (Prae) its involved in a pilot research within European Union program, Horizon 2020,where Unphu and privates European organizations are developing Amperes Project ,consisting of among some others aspect, in monitoring an inspection of the country electrical networks ,above all the ones that are locate in remote places of difficult access , through drones ; that are links with Galileo satellite that does the UE have and transmits information in real time of the EDE network conditions”.
Both Asca as Unphu will offer academic facilities to their relatives,aiming to prepare the necessary personnel in a strategic area for the national development.
The agreement was signed in presence of mrs Bernarda Franco,legal director of Idac, licensed Pedro Cabrera Jr., aeronautical advisory of Air and Space coordinator office (Prae); mrs Jasmín Fabre, in charge of Idac International relationships; doctor Fabio Herrera Roa, first vicepresidente of the foundation of the Pedro Henriquez Urena dominican University (Fudphu) and architect Eugenio Pérez Montás,founder professor both Fudphu as Unphu.
