Cuba certifies Asca of Idac as a training center for its aeronautical personnel

The Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Cuba (Iacc) granted a validation certificate to the Superior Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (Asca), of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac), as an instruction center to provide training to the personnel of the Cuban Aeronautical Authority.

The certification was delivered to Asca´s director, Clara Fernández, during her participation in the working meeting of the Civil Aviation Training Centers at the Office of North, Central America and the Caribbean (Nacc) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (Icao), based in Mexico City.

Professor Fernández said she felt honored to receive this certification and reiterated the commitment of the Dominican Republic to continue strengthening aviation, responding to the training needs of the sister country of Cuba and the entire region with the highest standards of quality.

To obtain such accreditation, the Asca passed satisfactorily an audit carried out by the Cuban aeronautical authority, headed by Mr. Juan F. Alfonso Doval, head of the Department of Licenses and Instruction of the Iacc.

The  general director (i) of Idac, Héctor Porcella, celebrated the new accreditation granted to the Asca and assured that the training platform it operates  is one of the great strengths of the aeronautical authority of the Dominican Republic

The Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (Asca) of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (Idac) is the only aeronautical instruction center in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean that has been accredited by the International Civil Aviation Organization (Icao), with access facilities for technical personnel and students from different latitudes of the continent and other regions of the world.

This aeronautical training center has designed more than 150 academic continuing education programs in various areas of expertise, such as aerodromes, airworthiness, airports, aeronautical information management (Aim), air traffic management (ATM), communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS), aviation law, facilitation, human factors, instruction, licensing, environment, dangerous goods, meteorology, organizational and aeronautical management, search and rescue (Sar), operational security and airport surveillance
