Coe liaisons interested in improving coordination visit Idac aeronautical complex

Punta Caucedo. Representatives of 15 State institutions that are part of the Emergency Operations Center Coe visited the aeronautical complex of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation Idac, in Punta Caucedo to learn about the services that operate and strengthen the levels of coordination in contingency situations.

Air traffic controller Claudia Beatriz Roa Ochoa, the first Dominican woman to head the Directorate of Air Navigation Dina, led the tour of the visitors that included the headquarters building of the Directorates of Air Navigation, Flight Standards, Operational Safety Surveillance and the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences Asca of Idac.

“We welcome you to our facilities and value the important role you play as links between the institutions you represent and the Emergency Operations Center, in the event of any emergency or event,” said Claudia Beatriz.

The group visited the modern Air Traffic Control Center of Santo Domingo, where they received  explanation of the operation of the equipment from  technical personnel working in the area Julio César Mejía Alcántara, Technical Coordinator of the Dina; Ramón Antonio Pirón Bautista, in charge of the Search and Rescue Division, and Idac-Coe liaison, who responded to visitors’ concerns.

The liaison group also visited the support or recreation areas for air traffic controllers in the building that houses the Flight Standards and Air Navigation directions, as well as the lounges of the radar control and aerodrome control simulators, located at the Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, Asca. where they were received by the rector Clara Fernández.

The institutions represented by the visiting Coe links were the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel), Dominican Port Authority Apordom, 4 members of the Emergency Operations Center Coe, Ministry of Housing and Buildings Mived, Fire Department, Santo Domingo, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Mimarena, Corporation of Aqueducts and Sewers of Santo Domingo Caasd, Dominican Institute of Hydraulic Resources Indri, Police, Edesur Dominicana, National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewerage Inapa, and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications Mopc, The Idac is integrated into the Coe in accordance with Risk Management Law 147-02t.
