
The Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences, Asca, of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, participated in the eighth meeting of the working group of the civil aviation training centers of the North, Central America and the Caribbean, Nam/Car, regions of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Icao.
At the meeting in which the directors, delegates and representatives of the civil aviation training centers of the Nam/Car regions met, the director of Asca, Clara Fernández, was re-elected for another consecutive period, as vice-rapporteur of the working group.
The event held on the island of Trinidad and Tobago was also attended by the technical coordinator of the Asca, Vanessa Byas.
This meeting is held every year with the interest of sharing good practices for the management of instruction, following up on concrete actions and providing information related to the initiatives of the implementation of the declaration of intent for the Regional Collaboration in Instruction.
This eighth edition was based on the analysis of the impact of the implementation of the topics addressed in past meetings on safety, air navigation and aviation safety of the States and the Nam/Car Region.
Issues related to the application of Artificial Intelligence, Ai, in the training processes and the development of standardized programs by area of instruction in accordance with the guidelines recommended by Icao were also discussed.
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by the Honorable Rohan Sinanan, Minister of Works and Transport; Thomas E. Lawrence, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, TTCAA, and Cary Price, Director General of the TTCAA.
