Santo Domingo.- The general director of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation, Idac, Igor Rodríguez, received Chantal Valenzuela Santana in his office, who will soon travel to Michigan, to Western Michigan University, to study Aerospace Engineering, with whom he promised to collaborate with the resources for her preparation without any setbacks.
Rodríguez joins the Ministry of Youth and its Idelisa Bonnelly program, to ensure that Valenzuela Santana and the other classmates who are in the same situation, can travel to that university in the North American State, and can complete their preparation without the worry that the lack of resources could cause them.
“I have spoken with Carlos Valdez, Minister of Youth, about the way in which we can collaborate and the first thing is that both Chantal and her classmates who decide to do so will become part of the Idac family, so that once their training is complete, they can serve the country with their knowledge of aviation and, of course, they can count on our management to cover their studies,” said Rodríguez.
In addition, she stressed that the government administration of President Luis Abinader is committed to promoting the advanced knowledge of enthusiastic young people like Chantal, who in the future will be in charge of promoting the great technological changes that would place the country at the level of other nations in the region.
In this sense, the 20-year-old student, who will leave at the end of August, stated that she and her classmates have discussed their intention to present proposals for a reform in the infrastructure of runways and air terminals, based on aerodynamics and advanced technologies.

“Although the Aerospace Engineering degree does not have many students in the country, we think that it can be a way, first to motivate more young people to be interested in this type of training and then, with our knowledge, we can make interesting and necessary contributions to our aeronautical system,” added Valenzuela Santana.
Both the general director of Idac, Igor Rodríguez, and the Minister of Youth, Carlos Valdez, were extremely interested in accompanying the young student and her colleagues in the process of their training, contributing to the sponsorship of her tuition through the aforementioned scholarship program.
For this reason, her parents, Francisco Valenzuela and Edita Santana, thanked the officials and the Dominican Government for the commitment assumed so that both their daughter and other young national values receive the support of the authorities and can carry out their studies without major concerns.
The Idac general director was accompanied by the director of Communications and Public Relations, Claudio Martínez Turbí, while the Minister of Youth was accompanied by Endry González, Vice Minister of Public Policies and Luis Estrada, Director of Cabinet.
