Aeronautic sector agreeds  protocol to turn RD in a private aviation first power in the Caribbean  

Idac’s interim general director,  Héctor Porcella, thanks  president  Abinader for sponsoring iniciative to support a touristic segment of high economic potential to the country.  

Santo Domingo. The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation  (Idac) highlighted that the new protocol that will  govern domestic flies operation  will contribute to turn the Dominican Republic in the main power in tourism  in aviation in the Caribbean.  

“The new rule instrument, sponsored  by   president Luis Abinader and approved  by those institutions with responsability in the country air traffic, creates the conditions for  the Dominican Republic  can compete advantageously with the huge market  of aviation tourism, that actually moves yearly  between  45 thousand  and  50 thousands aircraft in all the Caribbean ”, pointed  Porcella.  

Pointing that sector institutions had created a table work and had agreed to define a protocol to incentivate this important tourist segment  of high consume  that attracts, thousands of pilots from diferents parts of the world, specially  from USA and Canada.  

He said  that to obtain that protocol, that makes possible to eliminate the hurdles of  bureaucracy  that  stops that activity,  president Abinader played  a key role as part of his engagement  of   “Cero bureaucracy”, or at least,the minimum necessaries  to guarantee  the operational safety and the law enforcement  in the country.  

Porcella recognized the effort displayed  by the director  of Airport  Department, Víctor Pichardo and the Airforce Commander in chief  of the Dominican Republic, major general Leonel Muñoz Noboa,to clear the bureaucraty  hurdles  and to facilitate the implementation of the new protocol.  

He explained that  in that kind of task dominican  air clubs are involved ,which are the ones with the  “know-how”, knowledge of everyday situations and most of the complaints for the hurdles that were  affecting this activity.  

“Its good to remember that taking a plane,  by example, in la Isabela airport, to travel to  Punta Cana, Puerto Plata,  Barahona or Montecristi,it is like taking a ground transportation, with the difference that it is faster  and safer like any other way of transport”, pointed Porcella.  

He said that IDACs authorities and technician and some other institutions  of the aeronautic sector had come to internationalevents  as  Lakeland  and  Oshkosh fair , the greatest world air show festival, to promote the country as a private  aviation destination.  

Porcella spoke about the country  potentialities in commercial and tourist aviation when he was interviewed by the journalist   Ricardo Rojas León  in his tv program  “A fondo” to the bottom, broadcast by channel  RNN.
